CLAIMS FOR INJURIES

In personal injury cases, the preparation of the “damages” aspect is critical. In general, Connecticut law allows a victim to be fully compensated for all losses that have occurred. This includes tangible items such as medical expenses and lost earnings, as well as intangible losses, such as pain and suffering. The challenge for the attorney is preparing and advocating the case so that the client is fully compensated. We look forward to that challenge in every case. Since there is usually only one opportunity for a victim to be compensated for his/her injuries, care is taken to document any anticipated future losses as well as others that have occurred post accident. Thus, our attorneys work with doctors, employers and other witnesses to document our clients’ injuries. At times, other experts are retained. A non-treating physician may be retained to render a medical opinion on a critical issue. An economist may be asked to give an opinion on future economic loss. Where useful, demonstrative aids such as medical models are employed to explain complex medical matters to a jury.
